There are 383 labs in the U.S. that use nearly 70,000 dogs every year for medical testing. 96% of these dogs are beagles. Beagle Freedom Project, founded in 2010, is a unique program that negotiates with laboratories across the world to secure the release of dogs to give them a chance at a normal home life after everything they have endured. There are several ways you can support the Beagle Freedom Project (BFP):
1. Make A Donation.
Beagle Freedom Project is a top-rated non-profit and any donation you make is tax-deductible.
Your contribution will help them rescue animals from laboratories across the world. You can also hold your own fundraiser for them via Facebook! Visit BFP’s Donation Page
2. Apply To Adopt Or Foster.
Once Beagle Freedom Project negotiates the release of beagles used in testing, they need experienced homes to take them in.
You can submit an application to adopt one of these lab beagles, keeping in mind there is a rigorous screening process since these are special needs beagles. Apply To Adopt Or Foster
3. Volunteer With BFP.
Beagle Freedom Project needs the skills of a variety of volunteers.
Can you help transport animals, staff a booth during a public awareness campaign, or help out with office duties?
Visit the BFP website and fill out a volunteer application to get started! See Their Volunteer Application
4. Shop At The BFP Store.
